Shankar has been advising / consulting with Corporates in his areas of expertise in Internal Audit,
Risk Management and Governance.
During his professional experience of more than four decades, Shankar has had exposure to different industries such as metals, carbon black, cement, telecommunications, retail, mining, BPO and electrical engineering. He has closely engaged with the Board Chairman, Audit Committee Chairperson, and other board members of companies in diverse industry sectors and has travelled widely to more than 25 countries across West and South Asia, Europe, Americas, Africa, and Australia.
He has served in the Board and Audit Committee of the (IIA) and as an active member in various International Committees in the last 18 years. He is currently a member of the Global Refresh Task Force.
Shankar was an active member of the Risk Task Force(RTF) set up as a FICCI-GRMI initiative to develop a Model Risk Code for India. The RTF was under the leadership of Mr M Damodaran, former Chairman of the SEBI. The Model Risk Code was published and launched on November 24, 2022 in the presence of senior bureaucrats, business leaders and media. This Code is for voluntary adoption by Corporate India.
